Officials hope that the commercial fish farming industry in the region will develop, given the approval of the Fisheries Development Program for 2022-2030 and the allocation of funds for subsidies to help companies cover their costs.<\/p>\n

Sayat Zhasipkov, deputy head of the Kostanay Region Chamber of Entrepreneurs (Kazakhstan), stressed that the issue of state support for fish farmers is relevant, as the region has potential in the fisheries industry. But not all farmers know that this year they can receive subsidies for the purchase of feed, machinery and equipment for hatcheries and farms.<\/p>\n

Serik Bessimbayev, head of the Tobol-Torgay Basin Fisheries Inspectorate, said: \u201cThe main goal of the program is to increase the supply of fish products to the country\u2019s population and create conditions for the development of fish farming. “The government has implemented support measures, including allocating subsidies to key cost components such as the purchase of feed, fish stocks, the purchase and maintenance of replacement stocks for vulnerable species, the provision of medicines, the development of fish breeding and biological adaptations, and investments in all types of fish farms.” According to him, a large investment project is underway in the Kostanay region, for which 30 million tenge has been allocated from the state budget. We are talking about a farm owned by Valentin Yeshenko and Vladislav Bobilo, entrepreneurs from the city of Tobil, who plan to build a 1,000-square-meter farm for the production of 20 tons of sturgeon. The farm includes 20 ponds and 5-meter ponds for breeding and keeping fish in the winter, which will allow in the future to grow not only fish, but also caviar and fry. It should be noted that the launch of a small farm in this space dates back to 2020, when they produced fish weighing 3-5 kilograms. But now, for some reason, the progress of the project has been postponed to next year, so this year the entrepreneurs plan to use only 10 million tenge of subsidies.<\/p>\n

Serik Besimbayo added that the subsidies include not only fish breeding, but also its processing.
